Natural fill is the product and the risk. Green bamboo moulds, unconditioned cones carry larvae, and straw bales can arrive with pests that get seized at the border. We buy mature moso bamboo, split to 6–10 mm bore sizes, heat-condition every fill at 60 °C core for 30 minutes, pack with a lot code, and keep the treatment record for two years. That is the difference between a novelty and a compliant export.

Kiln-dried processed bamboo, cones and bark are not raw plant material, but Australia and NZ scrutinise any organic filling: we supply the heat-treatment record and can quote a bark-free, straw-free recipe for those markets. For the EU, fillings and frame need the EUDR DDS from 30 December 2026. We pre-fill the harvest data fields for you.

Objections we handle weekly
The answers below are the ones we give on the phone. Anything missing, ask on WhatsApp.
Will it arrive mouldy or full of live insects?
No. All organic fill is heat-conditioned at 60 °C core for 30 minutes and packed below 14 % moisture with a lot code per chamber. Across 41 shipments since 2022 we have had zero mould or infestation claims. But we would rather you also keep cartons out of direct rain in your own warehouse, because a sealed retail box over a damp pallet is where these stories start.
Do councils and schools need anything special?
Usually three things: a species information card in the local language, a fixing kit suitable for the building (we supply screws and plugs, and a wall-safe bracket option), and a compliance statement where the item is for young children — EN 71-3 on painted surfaces if it goes into a school. We handle all three; tender packs are a regular job.
Is a mini hotel better for gifting?
The 250 × 250 mm mini is the corporate-gift workhorse: light, cheap to air-freight, engraves well, and lands in a natural gift price band. MOQ 300, and a kraft sleeve with your logo is a small per-piece adder.
Can you produce a design we invent?
Yes, send a sketch or a competitor photo. Shape, chamber count, roof style, colour and branding are all custom; we return a 3-D mock-up and cost in 48 hours and prototype in 10 days. No tooling is required for most designs since this is CNC and panel-saw work.
